We opened our eyes, remembered it was our last day of school, looked out the window, and said "Oh My God..... why us?" Little did we know, the strength and vitality of our year would pull us through and ensure a day totally opposite to the miserable weather...

Knowing that it would be the last day of our thirteen year schooling carreer, many of us turned up to school before 9:00 - four hours before our farewell ceremony began. We congregated in the canteen area slowly realising that after this, school would be no-more. We took many photographs in every single group combination possible, signed autograph books with warm fuzzy messages of love and friendship, and even signed shorts (with "Bye Nigel, you Nigel").

Each of us realised that every single day of year 12 had come down to this. It was not the trials, the HSC exams, or even formal - it was ending a routine that had become an integral part our lives. Ending something that we had all enjoyed, a routine that we all wanted more of so much - but knew we would never ever have a chance to.

Quarter to one came, and with both reluctance and anticipation, we slowly made our way to the hall, where our farewell assembly would be held. Walking down the aisle with year sevens to elevens staring up at us we all saw the face of fortune. They looked at us and said "gee I wish it was my last day" - we looked at them and said "lucky barstards don't know how lucky they are".

From there the fun began... "rrrrr... rrrr", interesting and humourous speeches from each year group. More pirate noises. More speeches. Then our very own Year 12 band performing two of the greatest songs ever - "see-ya-later-aligator" and forgot the other one.

Halfway thu writing this. Come back later.
